Cids and Compost

Our class studied worms and compost. We developed a story on the computer about worms and took a class from another school on a tour of our Outdoor Classroom, especially our worms and compost.
A few weeks later in a review about contractions:
Teacher: "What is that big word that means to put two little words together and put an apostrophe where you leave out a letter?"
Student 1: "Compound word?"
Student 2: "Compost?"
A true story to appreciate!!
